Windpool Community Garden Project

Local organizers have decided to claim space at the former site of St Pats High School, at the corner of Quinpool Road and Windsor Street!

We’d love for you to get involved!

Our goal is to create a community-built garden space for folks to utilize and enjoy, to show the city that sustainable, environmentally-focused initiatives deserve their place in the core of Halifax’s landscape.

We will be on-site Saturday afternoons throughout the summer – Please feel free to join us, bring your own additions to the garden, enjoy the new trees and plants, or just say hi!

*We are looking to expand with some raised beds to provide food-bearing plants. Anyone with resources/skills to help make this a reality are encouraged to get in touch! Email for info*

Check back for updates and new photos!

Additions so far:
Black Current, Highbush Cranberry, Hazel and Butternut Walnut trees!
Squash, mint and sunflowers

NSPIRG is thrilled to be assisting in the development of this community garden initiative. Windpool is the working name for the garden but we are open to options which better represent the community and history of the area!

We would like to formally recognize that this garden is being built on the unceded Mi’kmaq teritory of K’jipuktuk

Dalhousie Student Union Building   6136 University Avenue, Room B24 – Halifax NS B3H 4J2
NSPIRG would like to acknowledge our office is located on ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People
